I have a BS Degree in Criminal Justice and a MBA. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Leadership and Human Services, which I hope to complete in the winter of 2017. I have over ten (10) years in teaching adults, adolescents and children. I have over twenty (20) years, and specialize in working with behavioral at-risk youths who require home school education and tutoring in remedial elementary and middle school subjects. I have over 40 intense hours in TEFL-TESOL in teaching one-on-one English, English to young learners, Business English, pronunciation and cultural awareness. I also provide services to adults aspiring to complete any GED studies or wish is to return to school.
I look forward to working with my students on-line or in-person. I am highly goal and success driven and will assist in improving my clients self-esteem, character and knowledge to allow them the opportunity to become successful and prosperous in their future endeavors.
I am experienced in working with young children between the ages of 8 to 13. I am able to assist these students in reading, spelling, writing and vocabulary. I also have experience in working with students with minimal behavioral problems. I have a passion in working with all students to help them achieve all that they can be.
I have worked with students in the country of Jamaica. I created a remedial program that helped young adults expand on their reading and writing ability, as well as assisted these students with basic nutrition and wellness, disaster preparedness and hygiene.
I created an academic reading program for disenfranchised adult students in the country of Jamaica. I have other skill-sets in teaching students both in the US and/or abroad. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently a retired Juvenile Probation Officer. I have substituted in the Dallas ISD in elementary education. I have a Masters Degree in Business, and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
