Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Study Skills

I have obtained a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree, both in the field of Education. I have completed numerous rigorous courses and understand the importance of good study skills. I have tutored students in study skills from grades 3-12. The tools and tips I utilize to maximize study time range from the following: highlighted passages, flash cards, writing of information in paragraph form, and utilizing a voice recorder for lengthy lectures.

Vocabulary

I've tutored students in 3-12 grades in reading and vocabulary. I'm also a Texas certified teacher in English Language Arts grades K-8.
