I am from South Carolina, born and raised, but moved to Texas on a whim for work, I now seek something more to do with my time after work. I have always loved teaching others, whether it be a skill set or a joke, I have always found enjoyment teaching others new things. In South Carolina, I obtained my bachelors degree in Kinesiology, while learning a large amount of Spanish through my elective classes. I went on to obtain my associates degree in physical therapy. After graduating I started working with HealthSouth, where in along with my physical therapy duties I also taught the diabetic education class, spoke at a continuing education course, and started the amputee support group. After work, in the evenings, I would go to the Adult Education Center and teach older students how to do math and read. Currently I work for NOVA medical centers, and help with the Professional Development Program, however, after work I find that life could be more fulfilling, therefore I would like to return to tutoring. The joys of teaching are exponential to me, and I would love to tutor you or your child.
Through my degree in Kinesiology and my associates degree in physical therapy I have taken numerous classes in biology, chemistry, physics, and of course anatomy and physiology.
While obtaining my bachelors degree I took, as my elective courses, all Spanish classes to help me excel in being able to speak conversational Spanish. I also continue to practice my Spanish at work with my Spanish patients.
Being in the medical field, paperwork is a constant requirement, and your verbiage and syntax have to on the mark. All patient centered paperwork is a legal document, and I continuously have to write correct paperwork with higher level wording.
Other than my background, my personality will inspire you to learn! Learning can be dull and boring at times, but it will be fun with me! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I speak basic conversational Spanish. I took Spanish in college as my elective courses. I also speak quite a bit of Spanish at work, as most of my patients do not know English. I also have many Spanish workbooks that will aide with the tutoring.
