I have also tutored many of my friends' younger siblings to help prepare them for their final exams. Math concepts make sense to me and as a result, I can always explain the problems to students in a simple way that makes sense to them.
I love seeing a concept click with another person since it means that they understand how to do the problem and that they are making sense of the puzzle that is math. While math does not seem approachable to many people, I believe that with the right help, anyone can learn to be good at and enjoy math. This is reflected in my approach to tutoring. I try to make sure that my students understand why a problem is solved in a specific way. Ensuring the presence of this understanding not only makes math more tangible, but it also makes solving the problems common sense which is the key to doing well.
