You have a unique way of learning. If you are having difficulty in mathematics or science? Getting low scores on the ACT? Chances are, you're trying to understand the subjects in a way that is different from the way YOU learn things.
Once you learn how YOU learn, there is nothing you cannot learn. I use a technique that quickly identifies your unique learning style; then I help you fill gaps in your previous learning while at the same time help you build confidence in the subject. Once your learning barriers are removed you will be amazed how fast and easily you approach and solve just about any math or science problem you encounter.
Experience and Education:
I have written and published extensively on matters of education. I have 15 years of teaching experience at elementary, high school and college levels, teaching mathematics and science.
I have 8 years experience as private in-home tutor, as well as operated a tutoring center as director. I earned a graduate degree in Engineering Physics from the University of California and a BS in mathematics. I have taught the use of TI graphing calculator systems to students and teachers since 2007.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My primary method for helping a student learn Algebra is to first help the student understand HOW she or he learns. I then help the student become comfortable with and apply his or her own learning style while we practice problem solving techniques. It works EVERY time!
I hold an Advanced degree in Engineering Physics. I've been teaching Advanced Placement Calculus and Physics for over 15 years. I have taught at the college level and high school. I will also show you how to better use your calculator to master any calculus exam.

I graduated with honors from University of California Irvine with a degree in physics which included the study of Differential Equations. While I have not had the opportunity to tutor privately in this subject, I did teach the subject for a year and a half at a college in 2001.
During my coursework at the University of California from 1998 - 2003 as part of the curriculum I took two courses on Mathematica. I also worked in the tutor center at Fullerton college in Fullerton California assisting students with programming in Mathematica.
I currently am engaged in a project with Hattiesburg Public schools, preparing 12 student teachers to take the Praxis this coming January 6, 2016.
This is my third course that I have taught.
Worked With TestSmart Learning Center from May 2008 - April 2010 as tutor and homework helper, I specialized in assisting students in understanding and using their own learning styles to gain confidence in their approach to problems. I also taught the how-to's of studying mathematics and science. This entailed helping students first to learn how they learned, then helping them create a math or science specific study technique that best fit their own learning style.
I taught trigonometry at the high school level for 6 years. I am engaging, accurate and students have fun in my sessions. In addition I am certified instructor with TI graphing calculators.
