Greetings! I have been in the education field since 2004 as a certified teacher's assistant and a highly qualified Generalist since 2007. I taught grades 5-8 science and grade 7 Bible.
I have flexible hours now that I am a stay-at-home mom. My hourly rate depends on the age of the student, subject(S), and traveling distance.
I tailor my teaching to the needs of the student and include differentiated instruction to meet varying learning styles.
When I am not busy, I love spending time with my family and reading. I enjoy photography and scrapbooking. I also like to go to the movies and sometimes play online games.

Kathy assisted me when I was studying to take the Teacher's Certification Exam. She is detailed, organized tutor who is a former teacher. Before we even met, she requested that I send her my previous scores from the test so that she could analyze where I needed the most assistance. The day of our tutoring she had done a spreadsheet of my scores that showed the percentages to emphasize where I needed the most work. From there, my tutoring session was tailored to focus on my most deficient areas.
This was my first time using a tutor, and Kathy set the bar for any future tutors I may need. I highly recommend her based on her skills and organization.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I scored an 80 on the A&P section of the HESI, which I took last month.
I took eighteen credit hours of religion in college, most of which I took at Dallas Baptist University, and I teach a 7th grade Bible class at a Christian private school.
I have a Generalist Grades 4-8 Teacher's Certificate and an Educational Aide II Certificate from the state of Texas. I have been in the education field since 2004. I can teach younger students, but most of my experience has been teaching grades 5-8.
