Bachelor's degree in Spanish language and Literature (Spanish Language)
University of Granada, Spain (Master's)
University of Barcelona, Spain (Master's)
My name is Isabel. I am from Spain and I moved to the USA 3 years ago. I am currently teaching Spanish at Middle and High School in a charter school that has IB program. I am also an examiner for the International Baccalaureate Organization and I am working on my second Master's degree in Information and Communication Technology in Education.
My passion for teaching Spanish started while I was studying Spanish Philology (a combination of history, literary studies and linguistics) at University of Granada, Spain. Then I got my Teaching Certificate and I went to Romania, where I taught Spanish Language, Culture, Literature, Dialectology and Sociolinguistics at college. I got my Master's degree in Training of Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language of Teaching (University of Barcelona) and I moved to India, where I was teaching Spanish for 6 years at a very prestigious international school in India and South Asia. I also learned English there!
Since I have been teaching in different contexts and students from MS to college, I had to try many different methodologies to meet all students' interests, needs and learning styles. Therefore, we can discuss what is the best fit for you and build our lessons based on this analysis. Not everyone can learn a foreign language in the same way!
I hope hearing from you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am from Spain and I hold a master's degree in Training of Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language. I have been teaching Spanish as a Second Language since 13 years ago, in different countries and from Middle School to University level (beginners, intermediate and advance). Since 3 years ago, I have been teaching Spanish from grade 9-12. I use different teaching methodologies depending on the student's learning style: task-based approach, project-based learning, communicative approach, TPRS, etc. In addition of this, I provide students with online resources that can support their learning at home.
