Study Skills,

Study Skills

Study skills includes learning how to organize and schedule projects, test and daily assignments. I will teach your student how to properly use a planner to ensure that all assignments are completed on time or before. Study techniques would also be learned depending upon your student's learning style. Students that are auditory learners need to have things verbally explained and or read to them. They also need to hear themselves read out loud and explain things to others to help them figure out various concepts. Students that are kinesthetic need to have hands on experiences to best learn concepts. I would work with manipulatives, diagrams and hands-on materials that your student would be able to touch and feel to learn. For the visual learner, I would work with various visual illustrations, flash cards and other activities that would aid the student in their studies. Study skills would also include doing research, planning out projects with definite steps towards completion, and learning how to outline and take notes in an organized manner that will be easy to understand and study. Organization is also a factor in study skills. I would teach your child how to properly organized school work, binders, folders, etc. to meet their needs to make sure that they know where to find all materials when needed.

Amazing Tutor

Valerie is an amazing tutor! We are so fortunate to have found her at WyzAnt. She's patient, intelligent, effective and punctual. My 9 year old son is very responsive to her instruction. I've found her tutoring to be an investment well worth it. I highly recommend Valerie. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent tutor and very patient with student.

Ms. VALERIE spent several hours with my child who did not pass his star test in math. He still may not pass the make up test due to the short time she had to work with him but I assure you that he stands a lot better chance now than before she worked with him. If she had more time with him I think he may be able to ace it. Maybe not, but she is good and very reasonable. Recommended by me.

Patient, great tutor, great sense of style in teaching.

Valerie has a great touch on the way she she deals with my daughter. She gets her to understand in a way that is so simplified and also in a fun loving environment. I have also seen the enthusiasm in my daughter now to complete her assignments more accurately. I would recommend her to anyone whose child is having difficulty. She is awesome!!!
