With over 40 years in the classroom, I have worked with students at many levels. I still attend professional meetings to make sure that I have sharp skills to handle today's curriculum demands. While the state of Texas demands that all students study physics, the decision makers have not provided a path for the teachers to understand the issues and struggles that some students face in their study of physics. I have continually attended workshops and instructional programs to make me better at my mission: all students can learn physics and chemistry. I have met many of the textbooks authors and consider them friends. I find these contacts invaluable in my curriculum strategies for students success.

I am certified in 3 states to teach math. I have taught Algebra I and Algebra II in a full time program for gifted students. I have 32 hours of credit in undergraduate math courses and 12 hours of credit in graduate math courses.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have compeleted an undergraduate program with 32 hours of math and I have had extensive math classes as part of my graduate program in chemistry and physics. I have taught high School Algebra II and tutored many students with college algebra. I continue to apply the math concepts to allaa of the other subjects I teach as often it is the math manipulations that present the biggest problem to the students in other disciplines.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have A BS in chemistry and my Master's in Sci Ed included chemistry. I taught chemistry for 25 years and I have tutored many students in this field.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have taught geometry during my high school teaching experience and I have taught more geometry in the physics and chemistry classes.
Physics,

Physics

I have been a physics teacher for a long time. I am active in the American Association of Physics Teachers and the TX section of AAPT. I am a Physics Teacher Resource Agent and I have attended workshops for the last 20 years at AAPT meetings to improve my understanding of physics concepts. I have worked with the Modeling physics curriculum, Mechanical Universe curriculum, Comprehensive Conceptual Curriculum in Physics and the PRISMS Physics curriculum.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have worked in the middle school science program as part of the Full-time Gifted Program. This included many units of study that were collaborations the math program. I have also worked as a tutor many middle school students that had difficulty with math and pre-algebra. I have completed several graduate classes in teaching strategies for math students.

Very Helpful

Beverly was able to meaningfully help my daughter understand difficult concepts in Chemistry. My daughters test performance was much better! We will definitely continue to work with her.

Beverly - Great help and support

Beverly did a fantastic job explaining and providing great clarification in all my questions and doubts regarding physics I had. I’ve been an excellent experience being taught and coached by her, and I’m confident that my upcoming test will be great and I will be able to deliver good results.

She’s quite knowledgeable and ready to teach

We worked on a physics problem and she taught me how to reason through the problem to find the most suitable equations to find a solution. She was patient the entire time as we figured it out.

Amazing tutor

My daughters grades and understanding have severly improved since getting lessons from Beverly C. in physics. She is great at explaining complex terms in understandable ways and helping plan ahead.

Knowledgeable, friendly, kind and patient.

Ms Beverly started tutoring my son around mid semester. He was failing chemistry but his grade quickly improved and he received a “B” from the class. She thoroughly explains the formulas and tests his understanding. She is a Great tutor!

Knowledgeable, patient, and helpful

I have had multiple tutoring sessions for my introductory college Physics course with Beverly, and all have been incredibly helpful. She understands how students learn and process questions and has helped me understand not only how to apply what I'm learning, but also how to read and decipher difficult problems. Beverly is very patient and willing to help with specific questions or use her own for examples when explaining a concept. I couldn't ask for a better tutor, especially since I easily get frustrated with math-heavy courses.

knowledgeable and patient

I've only had one session so far with Beverly, but she is great to deal with. She's patient (which is what's needed with me as I just don't understand this physics). She's wants to make that I'm understanding what I'm doing and as I have a lot of questions, she's not in a hurry to get me through the lesson. She just explains things well in my terms of understanding i.e. she gets down on my level. Before I was going to schedule a lesson with anyone, I wanted to talk with them a head of time. I can tell if someone is going to work out within 10 minutes. Before 10 minutes was up, I new that this was going to work for me, and it has. I'm very happy!
