I cannot say enough great things about Cheryl. In 2.5 months with Cheryl, my daughter went from struggling with a low grade in community college calculus, to an A as a final grade. Not only did the grade go up, but my daughter rediscovered her interest in continuing in higher math courses. Cheryl was always on time, and very professional. She was able to teach even the most difficult concepts/problem solutions, and give tips for handling the teacher's hard testing style. The teacher was astonished when my daughter began to hand in tests early and ace them. (So was my daughter!) Cheryl, you are awesome! Life Saver!!

Takes time to explain current homework and missing math skills. Always very nice and patient. Knows her material well. Good with my child who has special needs.

Cheryl has helped our son to dramatically increase his confidence in math. She has found a way to help our son successfully take exams and work through complex math problems. Her business like approach to each session makes each session impactful and worthwhile. She is on time, consistent and effective. We highly recommend Cheryl.

Cheryl is very accommodating and patient with students. My son is looking forward to his next lesson with Cheryl. I would highly recommend Cheryl.

Cheryl helped me to make sense out of the notoriously difficult concepts of Sequences, Series, and multiple convergence tests for Calculus II. Highly recommended for anybody struggling with Calculus!

Cheryl is very patient even when she has to explain something more than one time, which is sometimes what it takes to remember it. She gives very clear explanations and gives a lot of helpful hints to remember different nuances that can trip you up on a test.

Cheryl was very good an explaining complex issues. She knows her subject matter and has a very easy going style that make learning easy. She is also very reassuring.

Cheryl went over algebra 1 mainly with my daughter and my daughter was very pleased with her style of teaching. She is very patient and kind. Thanks so much for helping us on such short notice.

Cheryl is a great tutor for middle school and high school students! She has tutored both of our sons. She has always been on time, professional, patient, and has a calming presence about her.

I engaged Cheryl when my granddaughter was struggling at the beginning of the 2013 school year just to make a passing grade in precalculus. It was important to find a tutor who was not only knowledgeable, but who possessed the right style that my granddaughter would relate and respond to. Cheryl is very professional, knowledgeable and patient. Her style is very refreshing, to the point that my granddaughter’s confidence in her problem solving skills is soaring! My granddaughter just took her first semester exam and the results are astonishing after six two-hour sessions with Cheryl. She received an A! That is not just good progress – it is excellent progress! My granddaughter says that she appreciates that Cheryl explains and relates concepts in various ways that she can relate to, that Cheryl points out why you would use one approach over the other and that Cheryl points out common mistakes, sometimes very small ones, that can cause valuable points to be deducted. I have also found Cheryl to be very flexible. She has accommodated a few last minute requests for schedule changes to meet with my granddaughter. We are very grateful to Cheryl for all her help. I highly recommend Cheryl. You will not be disappointed!

Cheryl is very nice and really helped our son, who was preparing for a Geometry test the next day. We really appreciated her "can do attitude" on short notice.

My daughter is a high achieving AP high school student who uses tutors in some of her harder subjects. She ran into some conceptual issues in BC Calculus and needed help on short notice and was lucky enough to get Cheryl within hours of her request. My daughter says she is one of the best tutors she has ever had! She is patient, and tries many ways to explain a hard concept. She is already set up for her second tutoring session and we plan to use her for the entire year. We have already recommended Cheryl to a friend for Pre Calculus help. Thank you Cheryl!!!!

Cheryl is patient and knowledgeable. She explains difficult concepts in a step by step manner that is easy to follow. She is flexible and a good communicator. A Great tutor!

My daughter has met with Cheryl at different times throughout the school year for reviews and preparation for taking tests. Recently I reached her very last minute and she was able to meet with us and work with my daughter before her semester exams and gave my daughter the confidence she needed to go in and do her best on that exam. I can't thank her enough for all she has done. Thank you.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1 is one of my favorite subjects to teach! While many "higher maths" are rarely useful to anyone not going into a career in science, Algebra 1 is useful to anyone who wants to manage their own finances, stay informed by following news articles, or efficiently make their way through any number of real life situations!

Algebra 1 can also be a big step for a student, as it steps away from elementary arithmetic and introduces lots of new concepts and multi-step solutions. I focus on teaching why a solution works, and finding a solution my student can really understand, so my student can more easily remember it, recreate it, and use it in other problems in their continuing education!

My goal is to help you reach your goals, not to give you more work! Therefore, I match my lessons to your needs - What are you learning in class? What do you need to review from earlier classes? I individualize my lessons to suit your needs!

Algebra 2 is a great subject, and a great way to step into higher math! However, it can be fast-paced, and student can easily fall behind. I can help you keep and and get ahead in Algebra 2!

I focus on teaching why a solution works, and finding a solution my student can really understand. This way, my student can more easily remember it, recreate it, and apply it in other problems in their continuing education!

My goal is to help you reach your goals, not to give you more work! Therefore, I match my lessons to your needs - What are you learning in class? What do you need to review from earlier classes? I individualize my lessons to suit your needs!

Calculus! While some people enjoy the class, or at least don't struggle much, others panic at the mere name! If that's you, or if you've just fallen behind and need a little help, I can help you!

Calculus is where I really got my start volunteer tutoring, helping friends and classmates get through the class in college. Where does the dx go when you integrate? How do you know what to do when you're shown a string of symbols and told to "solve"? What do these problems and solutions mean? I can help you with these and so many other calculus questions!

Whether you need an in-depth understanding to get you through a whole class and beyond, or a quick review for a test, I can help! I focus on what you need to learn most, including reviewing material from past classes as needed.

Geometry is a great subject!

It can be difficult for students to get used to connecting abstract information on a page to two or three dimensional shapes, and to use math to connect the two. But it's such a valuable skill to develop! Being able to think mathmatically and precisely about shapes will be a valuable tool for all future math endeavors!

Geometry is a big jump for many students, and a new way of thinking. I know I can help you reach a solid understanding of the concepts and methods involved! With practice and step by step discussions, you can lay a foundation that will help you far beyond a single Geometry class!

Pre-Algebra can be fun! It can be a little confusing when math suddenly has more steps and concepts than the years before, but what you learn in pre-Algebra will lead into higher math. A solid grasp of pre-Algebra can change your entire academic life!

In pre-Algebra, understanding WHY a solution works is very important. An in-depth understanding of solutions makes them much easier to understand and apply to other types of problems. That's why I focus on helping my students not only learn HOW to solve a problem, but on finding a solution that makes sense to them, and helping them understand WHY that solution works!

Pre-Algebra is a vital base for the math classes that will follow it. I know I can help you truly understand this material, so you have a solid foundation to continue your math education!

Pre-Calculus can be a broad subject, including advanced algebra, real and complex numbers, vectors, trigonometry, and of course, the beginnings of calculus. It's an important foundation to have for higher math!

To really make use of this subject, you need to understand not only how to solve a problem, but why that solution works. I focus on teaching WHY! This not only makes the solution easier to remember; it will also make it much easier to apply to different problems!

An in-depth understanding of this subject will help you in your continued math education. I know I can help you achieve your math goals!
