I'm Luke! I received my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. While in college, I tutored college students in general chemistry in a classroom setting. I also taught college students as a teaching assistant in physiology in an honors biology program called Biocore! This program was really meaningful to me because of the engaging professors who energized me and instilled a passion for biology, something I aim to pass down to all of my students. This program inspired me to pursue a career in research including studying Cancer Biology and basic Cellular Biology at both UW-Madison and UT Southwestern. I'm currently preparing for graduate school in Cell and Molecular Biology and would be thrilled to use the knowledge I've learned to help any students improve their understanding in and passion for the biological sciences.
Additionally, I am an accomplished pianist and have been playing for over 15 years. I've been trained in formal lessons from local teachers and accomplished professors, performed with an orchestra as well as in a masterclass for Christopher O'Reilly, a renowned pianist. I'm passionate about teaching piano and am happy to teach students of early to intermediate levels!
If you're looking for help in the biological sciences or piano, please feel free to reach out to me and we can arrange at time to discuss your goals and see if it's a good fit. I'm very flexible and will tailor lessons to students needs/learning styles. To that end, I'm happy to take any material from students/teachers/parents if you believe this will aid the learning process. Thank you! Looking forward to tutoring.
