I am currently a second-year medical student at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. My experience with tutoring began in high school with informal sessions tutoring classmates in Organic Chemistry. I also received an award for outstanding performance in Organic Chemistry during my senior year of high school at St. John's School in Houston, TX.
I attended undergrad at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Religious Studies, earning an overall GPA of 3.96 and a major GPA of 3.99. In addition to classwork, I also studied and achieved a 518 on the MCAT during my first attempt. I worked for 3 years in the Wake Forest University Chemistry Center, which served as a drop-in tutoring resource for students taking General Chemistry I/II and Organic Chemistry I/II. During my last 2 years with the Chemistry Center I also privately tutored Chemistry and Biology both in person and online.
I also have specific expertise in high school and college-level General Chemistry. I served as a Student Instructor (basically a TA but I did not help with grading) for General Chemistry I and General Chemistry II over 2 semesters during my senior year of college. As part of this role, I attended class daily, prepared practice problems and worksheets, and led twice-weekly review sessions.
Currently I am tutoring independently during medical school and look forward to continuing to help students succeed.
