Approved subjects

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. ADD/ADHD

I am a certified EC-12 special education teacher, currently working with students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. I have worked with this population of students for 8 years and I am adept at developing a rapport with students. I use various strategies to help these students become successful, both in and out of the classroom.

Career Development

I am a former vocational counselor with a bachelor's degree in psychology (vocational rehabilitation). I have worked for various agencies in Louisiana and Texas as an employment counselor. I have experience with a variety of assessment tools used in this process and I have been successful at informing clients of how to seek, gain, and maintain gainful employment.

GED

I have previous experience as a GED Instructor for the county department of education. My main duties included teaching GED preparation to adults with various learning styles and educational needs and goals, monitoring attendance and progress of each student; and fostering an environment conducive to adult learning. As a former vocational counselor, I also understand the importance of obtaining a high school diploma or the equivalent.
