Texas A&M University (Physics)
I tutored from October of 2012 to June of 2013 through the Lone Star College Academic Success Center. There, I successfully aided students in Algebra, Statistics, Calculus, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, and Physics. I occasionally assisted students with their English and Biology subjects, but my expertise in the physical sciences was more sought-after.
I aim to explain the subject in a way that the student can understand. Not every student thinks in the same way, so I explain the subject in a variety of ways. My approach is to identify the gaps in a student's knowledge and fill those gaps. I don't aim for fun, but we usually laugh along the way. Humor helps to overcome the psychological barriers of learning a new subject.
I ask that students have at hand:
1. The assignment.
2. Their textbook.
3. Supplies necessary to do the assignment. Some assignments require use of a calculator; most require pencil and paper.
I will not do whole assignments for a student, though I often use select parts to demonstrate the necessary problem-solving skills. I am also more than happy to check a student's work. It's a great way to identify areas that need improvement.
I will not help a student while that student is taking a quiz or test online, as that would be considered cheating. It is unethical for me, puts the student at risk of failing if discovered, and does the student no favors in the long run. Success comes to those who are motivated and hard-working. That, too, is one of the lessons I teach.
I look forward to helping you (or your child) meet your goals. I tutored from October of 2012 to June of 2013 through the Lone Star College Academic Success Center. There, I successfully aided students in Algebra, Statistics, … Read more

Zach is tutoring my daughter in AP Physics. He arranged a tutorial at very short notice to help her prepare for a test. He was very patient and she got a lot out of the session. We will be using Zach moving forward to help my daughter gain confidence and knowledge in this subject.
He helped my daughter study for the math placement test for college. She did extremely well after only two sessions with him.
Zach continues to give my son greater understanding of calculus and is able to point out the teacher's errors on grading tests to give my son the credit on tests that he deserved. Thanks so much Zach!
Zach is professional, polite, and patient. He helped my F turn into a B in my statistics class in a short, college summer session. Zach was on time every session and stayed as long as I needed him to. When I asked a question, he was able to answer it immediately, without wasting time trying to figure out how to work through a certain problem. He will come to your house or meet you at a public library. Zach is very intelligent, I would highly recommend him. Thanks again.
Zachary has done a super job with my teenage son's physics tutoring sessions. Zachary does an excellent job thoroughly explaining concepts and making them applicable. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a physics tutor.
Zach is a great tutor. He very knowledgeable in the subject matter and his passion for biology is infectious. Thanks for helping my son pass Pre AP Biology. Great job!
My son's grades have taken a turn which I've been looking for in physics. He actually talks positively about this class and is really doing so much better since you began tutoring him. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Zach is a very good tutor. Our son likes the speed at which he teaches and explains the concepts so he can grasp them well before moving on the more complex ideas. Thanks for all the help!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've studied the Bible for over 20 years, both independently and in group studies. I spent a year under rigorous tutelage with three experienced preachers in Lufkin, Tx. Afterwards, I spent five years preaching full time in Gladewater, TX and conducting missionary work overseas. I've taught the Bible in public and private settings on thousands of occasions.
I have recently completed Organic Chemistry I and II at a local college. My average in the two classes was a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and I was offered a letter of recommendation by my professor. During my time taking the classes, I also tutored classmates through college's tutoring facility.
