I began tutoring mathematics in high school as a member of Mu Alpha Theta (the US mathematics honors society) and NHS (National Honors Society). After high school I attended Rutgers University, where I completed a double major in math and economics at Rutgers University with a certificate in quantitative economics. From there I worked in economic consulting in NYC for 3 years. It was during that time that I realized my true passion for math and econ was in learning and teaching. So I quit my job to begin my PhD at University of California Los Angeles. While studying at UCLA, I was able to resume my passion for teaching. I was a teaching assistant for 9 quarters, which covered 7 different courses. My student and faculty reviews earned me the teaching assistant award during my third year, and I was asked to teach twice during the summer sessions.

Academically, I had completed my master's in economics, by the end of my second year at UCLA. My fields of specialization were economic theory, industrial organization, and economic history. I then proceeded to pass my advancement to candidacy in the summer/fall before my third year. The bad and good news to come was that my wife would be offered a promotion during my 5th year at UCLA. The career opportunity came with a relocation to San Antonio but was too good to pass up for us. So I left UCLA (and my PhD) and moved to San Antonio for a year before being relocated again to Corpus Christi. While in San Antonio I continued to follow my passion for teaching by working as a freelance tutor. Now in Corpus Christi I have less connections, so I am joining a tutoring platform in order to find new students to help.
