About Michelle

My name is Michelle. I have been married for 25 years and have three children. The youngest is 14 and the oldest is 22. I have a very diversified background in education and have held the following positions: ICFMR supervisor, special education lead teacher (K-8), elementary teacher (K,3), early childhood specialist, early childhood adult trainer, family trainer, curriculum coordinator, adaptive curriculum coordinator, and MEND coordinator. I enjoy specializing in alternative teaching methods, behavioral modification, the Autism spectrum, Teach Ahead tutoring success, socialization skills development, neural remapping, and self-esteem coaching.

My passion is the success of others. I believe if someone is not learning, it is because someone is not teaching right. I also believe there is always a way to teach someone something; you just have to discover it. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to help develop the whole child one-on-one, improving many areas other than just the targeted area. I love the challenge of helping a child discover learning through use of alternative methods. I have spent many years concentrating on early childhood education because that literally is when the brain is hardwired. The largest project I am working on is assisting the Nigerian government with redefining their educational goals, guidelines, and methods. I look forward to working with children who are discouraged and unsuccessful in their current learning environment.

I currently assist teenagers with conducting ESL tutoring on line with students in China.

I have many years of experience in education. I know how to work with classroom teachers, to support them while supporting the child. I know how to reference state guidelines for grade-mandated outcomes. I specialize in alternative methods of teaching which aids me in discovering "what works" to help a child find success. I never had a child I gave up on.

I have many years of experience in special education. I know how to discover "what works" for each individual student. I build on success to develop self-esteem while improving learning skills. I enjoy working with behavioral issues and helping children overcome setbacks. I am patient and I don't give up. All of my students enjoy their time with me. I work with classroom teachers, to support them while supporting the child. This aids in teacher/peer/child relations. I specialize in alternative methods of teaching to assure success for all. I never had a child I gave up on. I have an excellent track record for working with parents to increase overall compliance and build positive outcomes at home, in the community, and at school. This reduces parent stress and increases quality time with the child. My students are proud of their accomplishments, especially if they are a student everyone else gave up on.

I look forward to helping you. I will be committed to you. I believe it won't be long before you notice over all improvements as well as in the area of concern. I believe the best two things you can equip a person with to aid in learning are a positive self-esteem and confidence.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I am a certified Christian Chaplain, and have conducted and produced Bible studies and Christian articles. I also am known for my prayer education.
