Born in a teacher’s family, I have always been ambitious to teach. In my opinion teaching is the kind of process in which the teacher gives knowledge to students but also obtains knowledge from the process of teaching. The best way to learn is to teach. I have a high desire to see students learn and understand science so that I really hope to be a teacher.
Having so wide of diverse background in biology, I can teach the students from the basic level science to advanced level science. My bachelor's major is entomology and plant pathology; which would be needed for me to teach general biology. I have biochemistry major as master's; which would be needed for me to teach advanced biology. I have veterinary master's degree in UW-Madison; which would be needed for me to teach animal science and animal diseases. I also have experience in comparative biomedical science Ph. D and medical experience; which would be needed for me to teach immunology, virology and vaccine. I hope to teach the students to link their knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology with other courses.
I have a dream; to one day have students called me Professor G. To one day stand on the stage and teach protein-protein interaction, to talk how we attenuate HIV and talk how a good scientist analyzes strange data and makes a new discovery. To one day hear that students say: it is enjoyable to attend Professor G.’s class, because he makes learning enjoyable and understandable.
Besides having a teaching strategy, a good teacher always has a good plan. I would like to teach students the basic knowledge as well as asking questions to stimulate their minds. A good handout is very important. I have been a student. I know what the students want to have. A good handout is a good tool for them to catch up the main idea and it is good tool for them to review. Thus, I will spend much effort on making handouts for the students when necessary.
A good teacher in the class should know how to use his scientific language to let student take their notes. That is, to employ scientific terms to express a biological processing. Of course, I have taken many biological courses, mathematics, physics, chemistry and even biomedical science courses. I know the suitable terms and the cutting edge knowledge.
I have been to many universities, and I have a good experience to deal with the future challenges in teaching. All in all, I believe that I have the motivation as well as the needed background to be a professor--and tutor.
I have helped students to learn Math.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
