I would love to see you/your child grow with each passing hour you/your ward spends with me. I have been teaching online class for SAT/ACT reading and writing since 2012. I have been catering to a variety of learners with their multiple interests and need, ranging from Spelling Bee, Vocabulary Bee, Language Arts for Elementary, Middle and High school, ESL, AP Human Geography, and college-level Philosophy courses and last but not the least, Hindi!
Being a Psychology graduate, I am well equipped to teach AP Psychology. I have specialized in teaching vocabulary. I teach new words by associating it with other interesting and related concept along with some knowledge of root words. I have my B.ed with English as major. I got my ESL training from 'Literacy Council of Seattle' in 2008. I am a Ph.D in Humanities from a premier institute like IITK. I also have experience of teaching in Community Colleges like Green River Community College, Auburn WA. I believe in enhancing my knowledge and teaching skills constantly. I recently completed 'English Grammar and Style', 'English Grammar and Essay Writing' and 'Principles of Written English' through BerkleyX on Edx. I am working on my teaching certification.
For lessons in any of the above mentioned areas I prepare my own worksheets and go two step ahead to customize them according to the individual needs. My hands-on curriculum incorporates power point presentations, flash cards etc. to create more interest and focus of the student. I have been volunteering as a tutor for NSF for SAT classes since last seven years. I also offer home-work help to students from grade 2-12th.
Feel free to email me any questions or concerns. In my first half an hour I like to give an assessment test to the students in order to know where they stand and which teaching strategy will work best for them.
