AKA The Academic
My name is Spencer Washington, and I am excited to be considered as your tutor. I have a tremendous passion for education and learning, and I consider teaching/tutoring an opportunity to help others become as passionate as I am. I'm sure you're wondering about my qualifications, right? Well congratulations, asking questions and probing for additional information are key requirements for developing good critical thinking skills, and it seems that you are well on your way to becoming a critical thinker!
I studied psychology during my undergraduate years at Angelo State University. I minored in biology. I am fascinated with the interaction between human behavior and scientific principles. I went on to earn my master's degree in Applied Psychology at Angelo State University as well, an institution that is now a member of the Texas Tech University System. I have extensive professional experience working with individuals who have developmental/intellectual disabilities which culminated in me holding the title of Associate Clinical Psychologist. I served as an adjunct instructor for Park University for 4 years, a position that afforded me the opportunities to facilitate undergraduate courses in the subject areas of psychology and sociology. In my current role as a Behavioral Specialist, I manage and direct a therapeutic program for juvenile males in a secured detention setting. I have skills in staff training, public speaking, project management, and education facilitation, all of which make me an ideal candidate to be your tutor.
My academic strengths include math, science (biology, physiology, biochemistry), psychology, sociology, and English (reading/grammar).
I look forward to working with you. Until then, remember - you're never too old to learn!
Spencer hasn’t set a schedule.
