I create dynamic, hands-on, interactive learning environments by incorporating manipulatives, singing songs, constructing models, conceiving acronyms, and maximizing fluency of math facts to achieve flawless mastery of mathematics. Imparting understanding of math remains my passion after teaching in the public classroom for eight years and effectuating a 97% passing rate for my students taking STARR. As a mom, I understand the need to accommodate the learning styles of each child and yours will thrive in my tutoring climate focused on his or her particular needs.

Delivering the “missing link” concept of mathematical function to a frustrated student differentiates my instruction methods from any other tutoring method. When your child recognizes and places these “missing links” into his/her existing academic framework of math, an attitude of confidence emerges. Raised desire signals increased math appetite and improved grades!

When majoring in mathematics at University of California, San Diego, 24 years ago, my passion for math spawned compassion for the learner of math. So I graduated from University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior with the desire to teach, you guessed it, math. Whether coaching adults in math methods at Lonestar College, lecturing students in the public classroom, or instructing students in a tutoring session, I relish the moment of “aha” with my clients!

Marriage to my husband Chuck for twenty years and mothering two sons nourishes my love of family and heightens my aspirations to propel children to success in our culture. My oldest son, Alec, serves in the United States Navy while my youngest son, Blake, anticipates graduation from our homeschool in a couple of years. My hobbies include running and knitting, yet spending time with family continuously rises to the top of my list of “things I like to do”. Allow my magnetic learning tools, sensitivity to missing links, and tenderness towards family attain academic success for your learner
