Gary can speak the language of math and geometry in a way simply not possible for an active parent (which applies to every parent). Its no secret that the math taught today is considerably more advanced than it was when we grew up as middle and high school students, so our capacity to help with homework diminishes by 7th grade. Gary is an excellent tutor and has bridged the generation math gap in a calm and professional manner
Gary worked with our son through Algebra I. He was consistently on time, prepared, and incredibly patient. Very professional manner and just a very nice man. He helped us identify not only the issues with Algebra, but the gaps in his prior knowledge of Mathematics. I would highly recommend Gary as a tutor.
1st meeting with my son and it went really well. Gary was on time and had set up a room for them to work in at the library. Thanks Gary!
Gary was a HUGE help in getting my daughter prepared in Math for an entrance exam for a Private school. He helped explain it to her in a way that made sense and helped her to grasp it easier. He is very patient and encouraging.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
