I believe all students can learn math if presented in the manner in which they learn. I try to teach concepts many different ways until I find the way the students understands the material the best. Some learners are visual, some are auditory, and some are kinesthetic learners. I try to see how the students learn the best and teach them concepts using those methods.

I like to make sure the students understand their homework. If they do not show mastery of the subject, I like to create 5-10 extra practice problems until the student shows mastery. I encourage students to always correct all homework, quiz and test questions missed. Math builds and it is vital to learn from our mistakes so we don't keep repeating them.

I am excited to help students learn and find a love for math. Even my students that started in my classroom telling me they hate math, would end the year telling me math is fun. Through patterns, students can see how math concepts are connected. I encourage the students to be able to work the problems with and without calculators. Student success is our goal so I welcome any input and resources you would like to provide. Together, we can help the students be successful.

I love using concrete examples to teach abstract concepts where possible. For example, I like to use candy when teaching combining like terms. Students enjoy creating their own shapes and finding the sum of the interior/exterior angles by cutting the angles of their shapes and placing them on a straight angle.

I am easy to reach and will normally provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up a lesson.
