4 years at Texas A&M University (Electrical Engineering)
My name is Charles W. and I graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in mathematics. My tutoring experience includes informal experience gained throughout the years, as I have often found myself in a position in which I had the opportunity to serve as a tutor to my peers, and formal experience gained through tutoring for the Texas A&M Department of Multicultural Services. This combined experience has, over the years, cultivated a love of teaching within me that stems from the resolution I see people have when they increase their understanding of a subject. It is this same love that has led me to desire to pursue a doctorate degree in hopes of one day becoming a professor.
Being an electrical engineering major demanded a rigorous set of courses in mathematics in order to build a foundation upon which many of the concepts found in electrical engineering would be laid. Throughout the duration of these courses, I became enamored with the intricacies of every theorem, equation, and proof. This led to a very formal, yet intuitive, understanding of many of the mathematical concepts that were developed throughout my mathematical coursework.

Charles really knew his stuff, we ran over everything I had been having trouble with understanding and Charles was really patient and encouraging. I'd recommend him to anyone who is having a tough time in physics and wants to do really well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I believe that I am qualified to tutor algebra 1 due to the fact that I received an A in each of my 6 mathematics courses.
I believe that I am qualified to tutor calculus due to the fact that I received an A in each of my 6 mathematics courses that I took during my undergraduate education.
Due to the fact that I majored in electrical engineering, I am very well acquainted with many of the concepts that are central to electrical engineering such as: analog design, digital design, electromagnetics, etc. In order to graduate summa cum laude in electrical engineering, I had to study these subjects very thoroughly and achieve a very fundamental understanding of each one. For this reason, I believe that I will be able to be helpful to many students who may have inquiries regarding concepts found in electrical engineering.
