Texas A&M University, College Station, TX (Biomedical Science)
I am a Biomedical Science major from Texas A&M. I am currently pursuing a MS in Engineering Management Systems at the Texas A&M College of Engineering. I graduated from Texas A&M with a 3.31 GPR and I have made A's in all the courses that I tutor. I especially love tutoring science because not only do I like to spread the importance and amount of fun that science can be, but it also helps me keep refreshed on the basics.
I tutor Biology, Chemistry (general and organic), Genetics, and Microbiology. My tutoring method is to make sure that the individual has a general basis of the topic, and if not then we will focus on that first. I will briefly explain what the topic is focusing in on, how it is used in the real world, and how to go about making it absorb in to the brain for efficient recall when needed (exam day). After this step, I will go through the academic book with the individual and show him/her how to highlight specific statements or points that will help in understanding the material more clearly. At the end of each chapter/topic we will review questions to make sure the individual has a solid foundation of the topics that were focused on. At the end of all sessions I will give a quick synopsis and then at the end of the week I will have a general test over all of the information obtained from topics we have covered.
I have tutored high school and college level students for three years and love that area of difficulty, but I don't mind venturing in to other levels of difficulty. Please consider me for your next tutoring session because I am enthusiastic and focused about helping you obtain the grade and knowledge you deserve!! I am a Biomedical Science major from Texas A&M. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have mastered classes in my Biomedical Science degree curriculum anywhere from linear algebra to calculus based physics. I am very confident in my ability to teach subjects ranging from pre-algebra to pre-calculus in its entirety and very efficiently.
I also have 3 years of tutoring experience for college algebra students, and have witnessed positive feedback and whole letter grade improvements.
My degree in Biomedical Science has given me the opportunity to master many biology subjects. These subjects range from General biology to Cell Mechanisms of Disease pathology and everything in between. I also was in a honors program to help all incoming freshman in the program be successful by tutoring subjects pertaining to my area of education. These subjects were always the entry level biology courses. I also have experience in entry level biology lab courses as I was a laboratory technician for the entry level biology courses at Texas A&M for two years.
I am qualified to tutor genetics based on my educational background and the amount of experience I have in a microbiology laboratory. My Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science focused on highly challenging courses in genetics and other principle science disciplines that enhanced the learning of genetic principles. I also gained experience in a microbiology lab carrying out tasks such as ligations, splicing and quantifying DNA by means of PCR and transducing DNA in to bacterial cells for 2 years. I have tutored and also been the student for two rounds in the MCAT preparation courses by Kaplan.
