University of North Texas (history and music)
I am currently majoring in history with initial teacher certification and music at the University of North Texas. Courses that I have studied in music theory include theory 1-4, 16th and 18th century counterpoint, form, harmonic, Schenkarian analysis, and twentieth century techniques. I have also studied music history extensively. My principal instrument for school is classical guitar, but I am also well versed in jazz, blues, and rock. I took lessons in jazz guitar from local D.F.W. legend Clint Strong for about a year and a half. I have studied classical guitar for over 10 years, and I have had the opportunity to attend and perform in many renowned classical guitarists' master classes. Many subjects interest me in history, but I am strongest in modern European history. I have three years of previous experience giving guitar lessons. For anyone who is planning to major in music, I am able to provide thorough preparation for the theory placement exams and classical guitar repertoire requirements.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
