About Megan

Bio

I'm Megan! I graduated in 2015 with my ADN and started working in the ER right away. I continued my nursing education online through Texas Tech University and graduated magna cum laude in May 2016. I've stayed in the emergency room for most of my career so far, but I've cross-trained to several different departments, including cath lab and NICU. I've learned that my home is definitely in the ER, and I have a passion for trauma and pediatrics.

I've stayed in the emergency room for most of my career so far, but I've cross-trained to several different departments, including cath lab and NICU. I've learned that my home is definitely in the ER, and I have a passion for trauma and pediatrics.

I have a little bit of experience as a tutor while in high school and throughout nursing school, and I've tutored anywhere from freshman biology to various nursing classes and skills. I love helping people succeed, and my favorite is when something finally "clicks." I definitely excel in math and science subjects, but I've also always done well in most other subjects.

I'm excited to get back into tutoring and help get people where they want to be in their education, and hopefully help a few fellow nurses/future nurses in the process!

As a nurse, I'm proficient in the sciences involved in healthcare, including pharm, anatomy, biology, and even microbiology and some chemistry. I also am strong in math, especially dosage calculations and algebra.

Can't wait to help you and improve on what you already KNOW!

Pharmacology

I’ve worked in the ER for most of my nursing career, where we handle a lot of different medications. Being the final “check” prior to a patient receiving a medication, nurses learn about medications actions, uses, contraindications, interactions, adverse effects, pharmacokinetics, etc. I use this knowledge in my job daily.
