About John

Howdy!
My name is John and being an Aggie in the engineering department allowed me to cultivate my long-existing appreciation of tutoring and helping others. I have been tutoring since I was 13 years old, and what I have been able to achieve after tutoring 500+ students since starting college, is the ability to relate the study material from closely-related majors to ones that aren't so.

Most importantly, it is important if you are reading thus far, to understand that I will not be doing the work for you. I don't claim to have a 'best-garaunteed-success-no-effort' system and you shouldn't believe anything that does. What I bring to the table is the ability to communicate the material and step-by-step guidance as to how to perform well even in my absence.

Looking forward to working with you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have gained such an intrinsic understanding of Algebra and mathematics, that I am able to identify why someone else doesn't understand certain materials. I enjoy both helping students understand the material and achieve better grades.

So much so, that the professor, Doctor Dwayne Raymond, specifically assigned me as the SI Leader and tutor of that class for the next few years. Cumulatively, I have tutored well over 200 students, at least 50 of them being one-on-one, in the course.

Mechanical Engineering

I am a nuclear engineering student who works at an accelerator lab and so I am required to be up-to-date with mechanical engineering topics that I have taken in class such as statics and dynamics, thermodynamics and etc. I have also done very well in those classes at Texas A&M university.

A Juggernaut of Education

This guy is the best. I've been tutoring with him for about 4 months now, and we have plans to continue through the next year and a half or so. He's patient, professional, and makes the content unbelievably accessible and has multiple ways of explaining everything so if it doesn't "click" one way, he'll try another until it does. He has a clear and deep understanding of the material at hand, and r
