Hi! My name is Mrs. R! I have over 10 years in teaching with a Bachelors of Science in Education. I have worked as a classroom teacher and have my own tutoring business. I love tutoring because it gives a student extra attention to work, but in a fun learning environment.

After working in a traditional classroom, I started to see how children learn. I like to make my lessons fun and engaging like making Math or Science facts into board games for example. I have found that if you are enjoying the lesson, then you are more likely to remember it for years to come. One of the things I most remember through all my years of school is a song about the Earth's Continents. To this day it is in my long term memory because the brain created a permanent memory of the content I had to learn. Most learning is short term unless you create pathways in the brain where long term memory is stored.

I took several classes in Educational Psychology, School Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology. This helped me to understand the unique characteristics of each individuals mind and how to teach to their learning style. Some people learn better by listening to a lesson, for example (audio). While others learn better by seeing (visual). A visual learner would do well by connecting art to the lesson, such as drawing out parts of the heart in a science lesson. Another type of learner is someone who is good at sports. Their physical abilities and talents are what they are good at and how they connect socially with others. This would help them to understand how to communicate marketing ideas and strategies such as if they were to run their own business. By playing sports they were able to learn how to effectively communicate verbally and non verbally to other professionals in a group setting.

I like to find out what each child wants to be when they grow up, and then giving them options on how much money they want to earn and how much flexibility they want in a job.

I have a Fine Arts Degree as well, and I love to work with
