I believe each child can be successful. I have almost thirty years of experience and I continue to learn information that can be shared with students and parents. I spent a great deal of time as a Special Education Teacher in the Northside I.S.D. where I planned and implemented curriculum for children k-5th grades. I developed and coordinated implementation of skill appropriate programs. I also visited with parents and students at home providing coaching and advise on parenting skills.
This field is constantly changing and I have made it a choice to continue learning all the latest trends to be able to help my students grasp and apply to their world.
This is another area that school districts are constantly presenting to Teachers and who in turn to their students. I have worked with Teaching Staff to develop teaching techniques for working with students in grades K-5th.
I love my students and being a part of their worlds. School for so many students is not a warm and fuzzy place. They are frustrated and feel like failures. They are not just faces and names to me. I want to know each one and help each one that learning can take them anywhere if they have tools. They are not Failures. The future can be positive. We will roll up our sleeves and find the way to success.
Learning can be meaningful and positive. We, you and your parents, will discover how to compliment your strengths. Help you use what tools you have and those you might not even be aware of. We will address the areas that are causing you stress. We can do this! I am confident of this in a large part to you and your parents reaching out for help.
I realize that you do not know me but my hand is reaching out to you...please trust me...even a tiny bit so we can get to work.
Please let me share a bit about myself. I did not go into the Field of Teaching for the money or the Holidays off. I went into teaching with the beliefs that each child be successful...to provide a safe learning environment..to give sincere praise for accomplishment earned...to give the realistic amount of time to complete task...to teach to you, the student, not objectives...yes, I will challenge, guide, and nurture you...there is no easy way to learn. I promise to make learning fun..engaging a sense of thriving. I want to instill the lifelong joy of learning. I want to be your Teacher. I will let nothing deter, dissuade, distract, or discourage me from our vision, I believe each child can be successful. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
