Hi! My name is Melodie. I graduated with a PhD in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University (whoop!).
In elementary school I had a very difficult time with math, and then again in middle school I had a very difficult time grasping onto algebra.
It was with the help of a few teachers, specifically, their positive reinforcement, a lot of patience, and persistence to do extra work on my weak subjects that I started to excel and actually enjoy math. Math became more of a game than a chore. For example, imagining that I'm a private investigator, solving a mystery, and the solution is X.
I bring that same positivity and game-inspired way of tutoring to empower students to have fun while also excelling at math and science (since math is the core to a strong science foundation).
I have a cumulative of 3 years tutoring in math and science from basic levels (for example, Pre-Algebra) all the way to advanced subjects (e.g, Linear Algebra and quantum physics).
I not only show students tips and tricks to solving specific problems, but also how to slow down, maintain a positive attitude, and tackle the problem in a logical, systematic way.
I would love to benefit the students I work with as much as possible and introduce them to this way of learning. I am easy to reach and will provide fast responses.
Go ahead and contact me with additional questions and to schedule a lesson! =D
