Bio

I'm Amaris C., an undergraduate Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Texas at Austin with a true passion for space and science. I have been a mentor for robotics and engineering for over 7 years, and had great success with my middle and high school students advancing to international competitions in global technology tournaments.

I'm Amaris C., an undergraduate Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Texas at Austin with a true passion for space and science. I have been a mentor for robotics and engineering for over 7 years, and had great success with my middle and high school students advancing to international competitions in global technology tournaments.

I began tutoring by helping other students in my high school classes. In college, I worked as a peer math and physics tutor through the Ramshorn Scholars Program in the University of Texas at Austin. Though the program has provided me with an enriching perspective on teaching, I am reaching outward to other students out there who may use my perspective to improve their academics.

I am currently an undergraduate research assistant in the Human Centered Robotics Laboratory in the University of Texas at Austin under Professor Dr. Luis Sentis. I have some experience with engineering research and project management, so teaching specific engineering courses are also in my area of work.

I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy engaging my students with fun and challenging math problems. I like to apply math to real world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of knowing and using math in their everyday lives.

I participated in several Math Count competitions and won second place in several regional tournaments for three years running. I scored high in my SAT Math core, 480/500 back in my day. Algebra I and II are strong suits as well as Calculus-based math thanks to my physics based college courses.

I was the captain of my Science Olympiad team for 3 years in high school. I am also studying and researching a degree in Aerospace Engineering, which pertains to the highest degree of physics and computational programming. Since Aerospace requir

Starting with high performance series elastic actuators, to helping NASA design the Valkyrie humanoid robot to our newest and soon to be announced DRACO liquid-cooled viscoelastic biped. I have also completed and aced my degree coursework in Applied Thermodynamics, Computational Engineering, Engineering Physics I & II: Electromagnetism and Optics, Calculus I -IV, and Engineering Graphic & Design.
