How dependent is your business on Microsoft Office and how comfortable are you maximizing its benefits?

Hi there, my name is Yves (pronounce Eve); I have a degree in chemical engineering, with 25 years experience in operations, sales, supply chain and financial planning; I operate today as an independent consultant across business functions.

I have a passion for helping companies improve their processes and seeing people succeed; while I teach a variety of MS products, I definitely have a preference towards Excel and VBA.

Whether you need to impress your CFO/CEO with new dashboards or reports, free up some time by automating your activities through VBA macros, or simply learn how to best use Excel in your daily routine, I am here to help. I am certified MOS Excel Expert and teach Excel for beginners, intermediate and expert users (Excel 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016), Mac or PC.

Additionally, I teach Access and Outlook.

Currently, I only teach online and tailor each session to your business environment (finance, sales, operations, marketing). I cater to managers all the way to C-level, individual or group classes.
Since I have worked in a business environment (corporate and small business) for over 25 years, I understand your needs and will quickly get you the results you expect for your organization.

Additionally, I cater to undergrad and grad students (Masters, MBA) in generic college Excel assignments as well as more advanced problems such as Linear Programming, Excel Solver and Monte Carlo simulations.

To get more information about how you can improve your performance, contact me now!
I look forward to hearing from you.

Microsoft Outlook,

Microsoft Outlook

How effective are you managing your calendar, prioritizing your email, or managing someone else's Outlook? Outlook is the essential organizer for any corporate employee. Whether you are a beginner or you need to learn new tricks, I'm here to help. I have used Outlook for over 20 years working in large corporations as well as in smaller companies; over time I have learned to master all the functions of Outlook (calendar, contacts, mail, tasks) and have helped train executive assistants on their roles as they were learning to handle different people's accounts simultaneously. I teach Outlook basics (email, calendar, contacts, setting up meetings, tasks), as well as advanced functions such as rules, conditional formatting, categorizing items, managing other calendars, permissions, assigning tasks to people, etc. I also will give you a few hints on how to set up your preferences such as signatures, OOO assistant, autocorrect features, manage your inbox size, and many more. Visual Basic,

Visual Basic

Are you ready to take your Excel skills to the next level? If so, then VBA (Visual Basic for Applicatons) is for you. VBA allows you to code macros and run predefined routines on your reports, create dashboards and more. VBA is all about minimizing input and maximizing output. And VBA can be fun too: for the adventurous, why not trying to create a Sudoku solver or a tic-tac-toe game?! Hi, my name is Yves; I am an independent business consultant in Austin, TX specialized in finance and supply chain. I help companies streamline their operations by reducing dramatically time to create their reports. I have learned VBA as most people have: on the job. Over the course of my career, I have had to create reports, manipulate large data sets, some times daily. Very quickly, I learned the VBA was going to be my friend. While coding involves a little upfront investment, the returns can be substantial; I have been able to achieve productivity gains of over 1000% with VBA, i.e. freeing up 90% of my time for more strategic projects. Today, I continue to enjoy coding and look forward to sharing my learnings. With me, you will learn basic elements of coding, variables, inputs, outputs, IF statements, loops, importing and exporting data, how to create reports, etc. While I work primarily in Excel, the VBA language is compatible across all MS products (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). VBA is a journey; there is always more to learn daily; so be patient with yourself, and most importantly have fun!

Statistics,

Statistics

As a chemical engineer, I have a knack for numbers. Professionally, I use basic statistics on a regular basis (forecast, budget, data analysis, statistical process control). In college, back in the day, I had a hard time understanding the practical applications of statistics. So it is only late that I was able to associate the importance of data analytics with business decisions. Today, I help students (MBA typically) with their data analytics courses. I walk them through optimization problems (Solver), linear programming, probability distributions, simulation models (MonteCarlo), decision trees, basic statistics (confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, linear and logistic regressions, ANOVA, etc.). The world of statistics is a true wonder and a never-ending learning experience. Right now I am studying Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) normality test. I hope to instill some of my enthusiasm to my students.

Thank you Meredith for your feedback. I enjoyed working with you and hope your new job is doing great. Best regards, Yves

Gifted Excel tutor

Yves helped me survive the semester! We worked Linear Optimization problems, Monte Carlo modeling Decision Analysis and Integer Optimization using Excel solver until the sensitivity analysis made sense. Yves can explain concepts and ask questions until the connections become clear. Most importantly, Yves went above and beyond the call of duty to review the problems, lectures and text book. Whether gift or talent, Yves’ ability to help students grasp concepts is a force multiplier. Would highly recommend Yves for help with graduate level MBA or engineering classes. He also understands VBA scripts and anything Excel.

Brian, What an amazing semester! I truly enjoyed working with you on your data analytics course and will never forget the fun we had cruising (or grinding at times!) through Frontline Analytic Solver together; I learned just as much as you did, and I am thrilled to see you pursue additional curricula. Congratulations. Please stay in touch. Kind regards Yves
