I volunteered at Boonshoft museum where I demonstrated and explained science experiments to children in ways that they could understand the complex reactions in an easy to comprehend manner.
I had an internship at Oesterlen, which is a consoling center for children and teenagers. While at Oesterlen I worked with children with various conditions to learn to better handle situations that provoked their conditions. This experience furthered my psychology background while also helped me to increase my effectiveness with working with children.
I honestly love algebra and have a strong desire to help students learn to understand math and to be more confident when working with it.
I have an in-depth understanding of biology and I enjoy sharing my knowledge in order to help people out. While at Wittenberg I took over 10 courses in biology, with numerous lab courses which allow me to be of help in a wide variety of biology related work. I also have a passion for psychology and neurology. I have taken courses which allow me to teach general psych, cognitive processes, and neurological development.
I am currently working with CARD, the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, as a behavioral therapist. I have gained experience from working with children in both a home and clinic setting. I apply this level of experience to my sessions by always being prepared and by quickly and effectively determining what to do to best utilize the time in the session.
In summation, I have experience in a wide variety of biology and psychology courses that allow me to effectively tutor students in a way to help improve their grades. I have a strong desire to help students better their knowledge and understanding of these courses and will do my very best to help them.
