About Chad

I am well versed in a variety of subjects. I specialize in subjects dealing with the human body and evolution. I was a Neurobiology major for three years until switching to Biology and Sociology. I have worked in a pediatric cancer research lab for two years and have years of experience tutoring both children and adults. My mother has owned a daycare for my entire life and I was the resident tutor there for the children. History, psychology, sociology, and writing composition are just some of the other subjects that I specialize in.

I speak in an elegant manner and am often told I sound like I speak in riddles. I’m not hard to understand though, I assure you. I often use metaphors to better convey abstract ideas and concepts. In my off time, I like to make music and write songs. I have an interest in many different things from art to astrophysics. If i find it interesting, I want to know more about it. That is the type of thing that I wish to instill in my students, a sense of rabid curiosity and a rasping thirst for knowledge.

I have worked in a pediatric cancer research laboratory for two years, was a neurobiology major for three years, and am now a biology and sociology major. I have more than two years of experience in sociology and more than four in biology and genetics. I have actual hands on experience with these subjects. I have cloned cells, spliced DNA, sequenced, and found genes on specific exons with primers designed by myself.

I have more than two years of experience in writing and composition with an “A” in all of these courses. I have won writing competitions and was commissioned during high school by college advisors to assist them with students revising their own college essays. My specialty is the use of metaphor and wordplay in ways many would not expect them to be used. An example of this is a sentence from an essay I wrote in which I used the phrase, “It’s like waiting for change from a penny, it doesn’t make sense”. Both the wordplay and use of double entendre is a hallmark of my writing style.

My experience as a writer qualifies me for this especially. Writing as many essays as I have and revising as much as I have, I have become adept to spot things such as spelling errors. I can easily convey this ability onto others so that they may benefit from my knowledge and hopefully pass it on to others.

I’m a really fun person and I’m relatable. I’ve been in school for a VERY long time so I know the right way and the wrong way to learn something. I’ve made mistakes so you don’t have to and I’ve learned from them. I’m offering the opportunity to benefit from my mistakes without having to make them yourself. You will learn expert methods to memorize things and execute them during exams and have a fun time doing it. I’m not a drill sergeant and our lessons will be fun and informative and I promise to teach you something new every time to make things easier.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biology

I am a current biology major and sociology minor with three years spent as a neurobiology major and two years working in a pediatric cancer research institution. I am versed in biology and math and believe I am a great choice for help in this subject. I have experience with elementary aged children and high school students.
