I am a former middle school math teacher turned stay at home mom. I taught 7th and 8th grade math for 9 years in Fort Worth ISD and Del Valle ISD and quit teaching in 2010 when my first child was born.
Right now, my daughter is 6 and I have boy/girl twins who are 2. I love engaging them in learning through fun activities. When I was in the classroom, it was always a joy to see a student's confidence build up when a certain concept clicked with them. If I can make it an enjoyable experience based on the student's level, I know that confidence will lead to success in the classroom.
I spent many years teaching Pre-Algebra so I am familiar with the different applications of Pre-Algebra concepts. I would make an excellent elementary math tutor too because I am patient, nurturing, and have experience with teaching my own child math.
Reading is my favorite hobby and I cannot get enough of books! I taught my daughter how to read through numerous fun activities and I am very enthusiastic about becoming a reading tutor.
I have always had a knack for spelling! I won the spelling bee 3 years in a row in grade school (even progressing to winning the district spelling bee one year). I know I would be a patient spelling tutor with many tricks to share with my students.
Let me help you become the confident student that you desire to be! I strive to make learning fun and know that I can help you achieve your goals.
