About Clayton

Hello, parents and students! I'm a recent graduate who has moved back to Burleson from Austin. My time in Austin was great fun, but now I'm back and looking to use my knowledge to help students in the local DFW area as a part-time tutor. My bachelors degree in chemistry has afforded me several opportunities to become more familiar with teaching and tutoring. My freshman year of college, I served as an organic chemistry tutor. My the second semester of my senior year, I taught a middle school section of computer science. My expertise does not currently extend to writing curricula or assigning homework, it will mostly be helping with homework and going over the previous class lessons. I can provide suggestions for certain study material (MCAT, SAT, ACT, etc.).

My expertise is mostly in chemistry, math, and biology, but I am always willing to help in related subjects. I have a basic background in computer science, so elementary computer science is a possibility as well. I have no problem learning alongside the student, my goal is to be a peer mentor as well as a tutor, not merely teach you or your child and leave. My favorite part about tutoring is instilling my fascination in the subject into the student. When you become intrigued by a certain topic, it becomes much easier to learn. Teaching others how to study, and making it easier to study, is my end goal.

Advanced level mathematics courses up to calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. 700 on SAT Math section, 99th percentile on PCAT Math section.

Advanced level chemistry courses, including advanced organic chemistry, general chemistry, analytical chemistry, etc. 99th percentile on PCAT Chemistry section. Bachelors of Science in Chemistry.

Advanced level biology courses, including Human infectious diseases, microbiology, genetics, etc. 95th percentile on PCAT Biology section.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
