As an educator, I aim to inspire my students to greatness. My goal is to facilitate learning by providing motivating, well-prepared, critically engaging lessons that meet students where they are at and push them to excel. As a language teacher, I want to introduce my students to various aspects of language, self-expression, communication and culture. I love to capture that 'Aha' moment for each and every student if I can. In language that happens when they begin to gain confidence and witness firsthand that they can gain comprehension, context and capacity within the language and that they can succeed. That is always an amazing experience to be a part of, when you are able to participate in the expansion, personal growth and achievement of your students as students and as personal individuals. I want to foster an environment of respect, consistency, reliability, accountability, safety and fun while learning a foreign language & strengthening the student's primary language foundations.
I have 5 years experience as an elementary math tutor.
I have a secondary certification in Spanish and 3 years experience teaching Spanish both in the public school sector and as a private instructor tutoring/teaching. I teach all levels from beginners to advanced grammar & conversation, Spanish I - Spanish IV. I have a Bachelors degree in Spanish and am fluent in both English & Spanish.

I love dancing, playing volleyball & softball, kayaking & swimming. I love being in nature and making learning fun! I've traveled to 18 countries and I'm passionate about diverse cultures in the world and I like to incorporate this enthusiasm & excitement in my lessons. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
