For nearly 2 decades, I have lived and worked in Hollywood. I've spent much of my career in entertainment marketing: writing, producing and editing movie trailers and campaigns, as well as TV promos and network packages. Trailer campaigns include: "True Grit,", "How to Train Your Dragon," "Spiderman 3," "The Queen," (and "Blood and Chocolate," but please don’t hold that against me).
I was nominated for a Sports Emmy for my work on ABC Monday Night Football and won ProMax awards for Nascar and "The Shield" campaigns. Much of the work I’ve done includes branding and re-branding networks such as FX and the NFL Network.
I have also directed dozens of commercials and, more recently, internet content for clients including Trucker Path, The YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Hot Wheels, VA is For Lovers and the Cleveland Indians, working with agencies including David & Goliath, Admarketing and Y&R.
I have recently relocated to Austin to make an independent film. I wrote the script and am working on pulling together the production. I hope to shoot the movie in early 2016.
I went to the best film school in the world and have years of real-world film experience.
I would love to work with young students to help their filmmaking dreams come true. Film is fun. Let's take out the camera and see what we can do. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated magna cum laude from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, the top film school in the world. Since graduating, I worked extensively in the film industry in Hollywood, editing movie trailers, directing commercials and working on short films. I have written several screenplays, one of which I am actively making into a film right now. I have a passion for film and filmmaking that I would love to share.
I have been swimming for as long as I can remember. As I child, I went to the Junior Olympics, in Japan and Okinawa, for swimming, several years in a row. I am certified to teach swimming to children and have done so for years.
I own my own video production company through which I have done commercials and web videos for a host of clients including The YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of America and the NFL Networks. I own several video cameras and other equipment, of which I am very knowledgable. I know all the tools of the trade, from concept to presentation, including computer editing programs like the Adobe Creative Suite and AVID.
