Blachelor Degree (Christian Education)
My passion in life is teaching and coaching kids who have a desire to learn and succeed at whatever they do. I have been playing drums since I was 8 years old. I started playing at church and from there went on to play in recording studios and in a local band where I played at various venues. I have played drums to all different types of music, such as Rock, Country, Jazz and Progressive Jazz. Today, I play at a local church in Austin, TX.
My love for drumming has led me to teaching kids how to succeed as a drummer. I specialize in Trap Set, single and double bass. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced drummer in need of some new direction, I am more than willing to help mentor he/she through the process of learning.
I bring years of experience playing with many bands in the studio and on the road. These opportunities have allowed me to work with different people in the music business which added a great deal to my knowledge of drumming.
What makes my teaching method unique to others is that I use a simple counting method. This method not only allows the student to learn quickly, but it develops a basic rhythm in their ability to drum which carries over into all types of beats and music. This method is a great platform where the potential/experienced drummer can build from.
If you or your child has a passion to be a successful drummer, please see contact information.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I started playing drums at age 8. I have had much training with all types of music. I teach country, rock, jazz, single, and double bass, depending on what the situation calls for. I grew up playing in church and in my schools band. Snare drums as well as trap sets. I can play any songs from 80's rock to today's bands. I can travel or give lessons from my home.
