About Patrick

I am a senior computer science student at the University of Texas who has always had a deep passion for understanding the world around me. Math and science has been the natural way for me to do that, and I have capitalized on every opportunity to learn more! I'm excited to help you learn and master the subject you're seeking help in, but am also excited to give you a greater appreciation for all maths and sciences.

I facilitate your learning by providing you the best environment possible to develop a true understanding of your subject. This means asking lots of questions which steer you in the right direction, having you perform drills and memorizations when appropriate, and demonstrating and explaining how to solve problems step-by-step. I will keep you focused, engaged, and ensure that you always make incremental progress towards your goals.

I have over 100 hours of tutoring experience under my belt, and am proficient in nearly all high school and entry-level college math and science courses. I have mostly tutored high school students, and have done so in the following subjects: geometry, algebra I and II, pre-calculus, STAR math test-prep, and pre-AP physics B. I am comfortable tutoring other subjects as well, and have always done so informally, helping out classmates and such.

I’ve done really well and want to help you to do the same. I received 5’s on AP calculus AB and BC, physics B, C Mechanics, and C E&M, computer science, and chemistry, a perfect score on my SAT math section, a 35 on my ACT, and there’s no reason why you can’t either. Let's learn, but let's also have fun. Contact me if you are interested in doing well and finding out how cool math and science can be. I look forward to working with you!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Computer Science

I am a senior studying computer science at the University of Texas at Austin in the Turing Scholars' Honor program, needing only 2 more courses to graduate. By the end of this semester, I will have taken over 50 hours of CS courses, of which 8 are honors courses. I have a 3.76 STEM GPA to date. Additionally, I have held 2 summer internships, one in Austin, and the other in Silicon Valley, giving me relevant experience in this field, and exposing me to a wide range of current-day software development tools, tech, and protocols.

I love engaging with others on CS topics, and giving them the tools they need to succeed in their CS goals, be it passing a class or building a website for fun. I have tutored high school level CS for 4 months, and have taught introductory elementary lessons for 3 semesters. I look forward to connecting with more students!
