Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Adobe Photoshop

I studied professional photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and I got a 2 year diploma in Commercial and Fashion photography. I took several Adobe Photoshop courses including advanced courses such as color correction. Before becoming a teacher, I worked for a professional photographer in Miami and I used to do a lot of retouching work in Photoshop. If you are looking for a tutor who knows in depth knowledge of professional photography tricks and work done in Photoshop, I can help you. I love Photoshop, it's amazing!

Business

I have an extensive background in Business. I graduated from EMU with a major in Business Administration and minor in marketing.

Fresh out of college I worked for a large corporation, Clear Channel Communications as an account executive. I grew and developed business in the Miami area and I was promoted to Multi-Cultural business specialist a few years later.

I took continuing education training in business development, project management and sales strategy. I found a love for teaching later on during my 30's and I started to tutor and eventually I got my teaching certificate.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am an experienced classroom teacher, certified in English and Spanish as a second language. I have worked for years as a substitute teacher from K-8. Currently, I work mostly with children 5 to 12 years old. I am creative and I teach using hands on activities, songs, educational videos and every day life activities in a fun safe environment.

ESL/ESOL

I am certified ESL Teacher/Instructor. As part of my certification I moved to Guatemala to teach English as second language in a large and very prestigious English School named IGA. I worked with students of all ages from 5 to 18 and also with adults.

I really enjoy working with students of different nationalities and backgrounds and I try to make the class fun for my students regardless of their English level. I learn so much from my students and their culture, but I also try to teach them the cultural part that comes with English as a language.

If you are looking to improve your English skills: Speaking, listening, reading or writing I can help you!

Fitness

Fitness instructor, teaching group classes at 24 hour fitness. Pilates, Barre and senior fitness. Health and fitness coach.

I focus on the student's needs. I combine stretching routines, cardio/warm up exercises, muscle strengthening workouts, and back alignment exercises for a well balanced fitness routine. I would love to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Marketing

Before I became I teacher, I was a Marketing guru and worked for large corporations. I graduated from EMU with a bachelors of Business and majored in Marketing. After I graduated I went to work for Clear Channel which is the largest radio and outdoor advertising firm in the US. At first, I worked as an account executive where I learned a lot about sales and corporate partnership management. After a few years I was promoted to a multi-cultural marketing role where I led the development and execution of many nation-wide campaigns for companies such as Coca-Cola and Western Union.

Later I went back to school to become a teacher, I taught Marketing I and II in a community college and high school. I have also tutored private college students and helped them with their projects and case studies.

Piano

I took seven years of formal classical piano lessons. I studied with European teachers who were professional pianists.

I have provided piano lessons to children from ages 5 - 12.

Spanish

I have been teaching Spanish and English as a second language privately and in a classroom environment for many years. I received my ESL Teaching certification from a prestigious international language school in South America named IGA. After getting certified, I worked for this school for over two years. During this time I had the opportunity to work with students of all ages (5 years old - adults) and also from many different countries and backgrounds. I was known for making my class interesting and fun!

Currently I live in the Austin area and I tutor children, teens and adults. Spanish is my first language, and I enjoy helping my students with their Spanish skills including writing, speaking, listening and reading. I am a people person and I customize my lessons depending on the student's learning style.

TOEFL

I am a certified English as second language teacher. I worked as a full time teacher for an international language school in Guatemala and Florida and part of the curriculum included TOEFL preparation for international students trying to get accepted into college. I taught TOEFL courses both in the classroom and 1 on 1 with private students.
