I have tutored many students through Wyzant, in biology, chemistry, physics, algebra I, algebra II, geometry and math SAT prep over the years.

I am a graduate of Concordia University, where I majored in Biology. In addition to the biology courses I took at Concordia I completed several chemistry courses, including a year of organic chemistry, physics courses and math courses through Calculus.

One of the things I have found to be most important for successful learning is developing effective and efficient study strategies. These differ from student to student but may include the order in which things get done, study media (flashcards, notes, pictures, etc) and environment. I will work with your student to find a routine that helps them to be as successful as possible and be confident in their learning abilities if that is something they need. If you think I may be able to help your child I would love to hear from you and discuss your needs!

Study Skills

I believe I am qualified to tutor in study skills because I worked for two years with a 7th-8th grader in this subject. She made a lot of progress in finding ways that worked specifically for her with my help. I also graduated in the top 2% of my high school class of 450 students due in part to developing good study habits. I think it is important for each student to study in a way that works for them so that they stay motivated and study as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Reliable and knowledgeable tutor

Maddie tutored my daughter in chemistry throughout her entire Junior year. She was prompt in showing up for her lessons and worked with my daughter to arrange days and times that suited her schedule. My daughter managed a B in her class and it was all thanks to Maddie. I can't recommend her highly enough!
