Culinary Institute of America (Culinary Arts)
With my Culinary and Wine education and working history, I hope to offer my help to others who are going through these tough types of programs - like I wish that I'd had, when I did them! I completed the Culinary Institute of America's AAS (Associates Degree) in Culinary Arts and did very well I all of my classes (which is important for helping you succeed in the lecture portion of their curriculum), the Society of Wine Educators CSW (Certified Specialist of Wine) certification, and I took the foundation wine education courses through the International Sommelier Guild. They were all tough courses to complete, but with the right guidance, help, and insight from someone like myself that went through them...you can successfully complete them, too!
I will meet with you at your choice of locations for any studying assistance that is needed, and I can come to your home location for helping you with any hands on cooking and knife skills practice, that you need. You will need knives and other cooking tools for such practicing, and we will use your class books and notes you have taken from lecture, but I can guide you through any confusion you have about anything from your classes and skills labs. Please call so we can discuss any specific questions you have, and arrange to meet at a mutual choice of location.
I hope to hear from you soon, because these types of courses move along very quickly, and I hope to get you started in moving forward through your program and towards graduation soon! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
