My name is Anita P. I have always had a passion for math and science. I truly fell in love with Biology in the 7th grade. My teacher made science fun and exciting. We did hands-on projects and expanded our minds in ways I did not think possible. I want to show you that learning can be fun and enjoyable no matter your education level!
I attended Duluth High School. During that time I completed 11 AP classes along with my other honor classes, foreign language and orchestra while earning a 3.96/4.0 GPA. Did I mention I was a student athlete? I swam competitively throughout my high school years. I was captain of my swim team and I have been teaching swim lessons intermittently for the past ten years. Just like coaching sports, tutoring takes patience and understanding.
I graduated Cum Laude from Clemson University in May of 2012 with a BS in Bioengineering (Concentration Materials). I understand the hard work and dedication it takes to be successful in your studies. I also know that learning is an ongoing process. Not all people learn the same and it is more than okay to say when you need help.
I tutored my peers in a university sponsored study hall from Fall 2010 to Spring 2012. These subjects varied from calculus, chemistry, biology, general engineering and general education courses. I am confident I can help you sharpen your study skills so you can truly understand the material.
I am currently pursuing my PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education from the University of Texas at Austin. I'm excited to transfer my knowledge in and out of the classroom into successful relationships with potential students as a tutor and teacher.
I'm ready to get started when you are! My name is Anita P. I have always had a passion for math and science. I truly fell in love with Biology in the 7th grade. My teacher made science fun and exciting. We did hands-on

It has been a pleasure working with, and getting to know Anita. My daughter was struggling with Geometry and working with Anita has made a marked difference in her performance. After only a few sessions my daughter's teacher is already noticing a difference. Anita is friendly, patient, and relatable. She is changing my daughter's perceptions of math in general. I am more than satisfied with Anita and I appreciate her professionalism. I couldn't have made a better choice.
We asked Anita to pull a rabbit out of a hat right before finals for my daughter. Daughter had some struggles with chemistry all year and finally agreed to help at the end. Anita was very responsive and punctual. Most importantly, she and daughter got right to work in their two sessions and accomplished a lot. Anita clarified the concepts for her, and provided feedback to me afterwards. We both really liked her. I am so happy that we found Anita and only wish we had called upon her sooner!
I initially contacted Anita this past school year because my daughter was having trouble with Pre-Calculus her senior year of high school. She reached a point to where she was completely lost with the material and could not make heads or tails of what was going on. Anita was very patient and thorough and worked with my daughter to understand the material. She broke down the material in a basic form that allowed my daughter to actually have a starting point to systematically work through a problem. Just recently my son was not able to pass the TSI assessment testing for Math with Austin Community College. Both times he took the test he kept scoring low in the exact same areas. After tutoring with Anita this past week she once again approached tutoring my son by breaking down the basics of working through intermediate algebra and functions, factoring polynomial expressions, simplifying square roots and solving simple equations with radicals. Two days later he took the TSI test again and passed! So happy with having Anita as a tutor and would highly recommend her for Math!!
Anita helped my daughter immensely in preparation for her pre-calulus midterm. We would definitely call on her again.
Although she has moved to another state, she agreed to Facetime tutor my daughter. Awesome tutor, very knowledgeable. Last year she increased my daughter's geometry grade by two letters.
Anita tutored me in Chemistry and she also tutored my middle school son in math. We were both pleased with the tutoring tips she provided and I will definitely use her again for her tutoring skills.
Anita knows her stuff. She is patient and she really helps you understand the material. With her help I was able to pass Chem 1 in my college! I would recommend her to anyone that really needs help!
She helped in improving my chemistry grade, and also accommodated some last minute requests. I would recommend her for advanced chemistry as well. Thanks.
Anita was very calm, patient and knowledgeable while tutoring my daughter. My daughter looked for to her sessions with her. I highly recommend!
Anita was an excellent tutor for our boys. She related well with both boys and was very patient and knowledgeable with all levels of material. She was prompt, reliable, and easy to reach by phone. We would highly recommend Anita to anyone!
Thank you for making time on Sunday to do an impromptu tutoring session. She now has a better concept of what she is learning in school.
I am very impressed with Anita's professionalism. She is always on time, and comes prepared to do her job. She has worked with my nephew for about 2 months, and his feedback is always positive.
I'm not there when Anita comes but my daughter thinks she is great. She can help a high-schooler with multiple subject matters.
Anita was a coach for my son and daughter. She is a very good teacher, patient and good with little kids.
She is very patient with my daughter and thorough and has helped reinforce what my daughter needed to learn to be if her test grades up!
Anita has all the necessary skills, very patient and professional. Anita is knowledgeable and engaging as she bonds with her pupils. She's always on time and willing to stay over if the need arises. Concern about students success and understanding of what's being taught. Would recommend her as a good resource.
After months of frustration experienced, I began seeking a tutor to assist my high schooler to improve Geometry efforts. How "refreshing" we felt after several tutoring sessions with Anita. She worked with my child patiently, gave encouragement, and the necessary push to solve problems. Thanks to her tutoring qualities, we saw homework/quizzes/tests improve from the 60s to the 80s. Thank you Anita!
Math & Science does not come easy to my daughter. Anita was a blessing to her. She had been struggling in geometry the last two semesters. Anita was very patient and taught her in a way it just "clicked". She gave my daughter the confidence she needed to do well, which is so important. As a result, she was able to bring her test grades up to high 80's! She ended up passing the class with a high C, almost a B.
I highly recommend Anita to anyone struggling. Many people can understand a subject and do well, but it doesn't mean they can teach it. She can teach it.
Thank you for your dedication to helping my daughter. I really appreciate all the time you devoted to helping her succeed!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
It's the science of life! I took AP Biology in high school. I majored in Bioengineering at Clemson University. My curriculum included general biology courses and more advanced topics in cell biology and biochemistry. I'll help you learn about biology from the ground up, literally.
Let's take the "mad" out of mad scientist. Chemistry can seem like an overwhelming mix of math, science and new vocabulary. I'll breakdown chemistry in an easy to understand way as I've done for many students in the past.
Every great mathematician had to start somewhere. Elementary math is a foundation for your future. As an integral part of our daily lives, math is used all the time. I'm ready to put my knowledge to work. Let's get started!
