About Richard

Personable, professional. Experienced and qualified.

I have fifteen years of experience studying higher-level academic subjects. After starting college full-time at age 14, I graduated there at the top of my class. Since then I've earned two Master's degrees, one from DUKE UNIVERSITY and one from the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN.

I made a perfect score on the GRE on my first try and have scored nearly perfect on the SAT. My IQ has been professionally rated at 155+.

I specialize in taking students from ground zero all the way to the apex of their abilities. I work with my students slowly and carefully, with warmth and encouragement, going at their own pace.

My tutoring experience ranges all the way from elementary to post-college. I take my students' success seriously. I offer lessons to students of any age. Work with me if you're looking for a personable approach with intense focus.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I completed a Master's in Theological Studies from Duke University in 2009, with an excellent GPA. My studies included courses on the Old and New Testaments, as well as biblical Hebrew. I have also studied biblical Greek as an undergraduate.

GRE

Earned perfect on GRE, all three sections. First attempt.

Logic

I am currently a fourth-year graduate student in good standing in the department of philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. I have taken both an undergraduate level logic course from Mercer University as well as a graduate level logic course from UT Austin. I received an A in both courses, as well as good feedback from my professors. I work with logic on a regular basis in my research as a professional philosopher.

Religion

I completed a Master's in Theological Studies from Duke University in 2009.

Writing

I've helped UT students revise their essays for four semesters while working as their TA.

Fantastic tutor. Looking forward to future lessons. — Richard is an amazing tutor. Due to my geographic location I require video lessons and Richard the system down. We spoke about a timeline to complete the GRE and set up a schedule to review coursework for our next lesson. We were able to lay out a plan of how long it is going to take to prepare for the GRE and he was able to help me with my math, which I have always struggled with and been away ...
