I offer advice that is not just applicable to an individual course, but also builds up a student's self-confidence and study habits for all of their future academic endeavors.

I have a decade of experience tutoring college level math and science courses. I have completed a PhD in Physics from the University of Tulsa, from 2013-2016 I was a visiting at the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab. I received my B.S. in Physics from the University of Tulsa in May of 2010, graduating cum laude. My research interest was in computational fusion theory, specifically in modeling magnetohydrodynamic instabilities and finding ways to prevent disruptions. My research consisted of both computationally simulating plasma reactions as well as deriving new equations to model the processes at hand.

I worked with Mathematica to solve problems in Integral Calculus course at the University of Tulsa. Continued using Mathematica to derive solutions to complex integrals often requiring special function solutions in Electromagnetic Waves and Optics course. As a PhD candidate, developed an analytic model of plasma in a fusion reactor known as a tokamak using Mathematica notebooks to numerically calculate, adjust parameters for, and visualize the effect of energetic ions on resistive instabilities- results were published in the journal Physics of Plasmas.

Responsive, patient and clear

My 10th grade son worked with Michael on physics throughout the school year with fantastic results. Michael was super-responsive and always happy to make time--even to answer a brief question or two at the last minute--and he turned what would have been a frustrating class into a great learning experience. My son felt extremely comfortable working with Michael, who easily adjusted to my son's level of understanding and was always patient and clear in his explanations. Working with Michael definitely sharpened my son's comprehension, increased his confidence with the material, and made him a better science student overall.
