Helpful Micro Theory Review!!
Dr. Eugene showed me exactly what I needed to know. He got straight to the point. He helped me tremendously!Nick, 1 lesson with Eugene
Kind, friendly, and above all has great intuition about my strengths and weaknesses!
Dr. Eugene taught me: How to set up the chess board. Chess notation. Fundamental objectives with concrete practice (limit your opponent's ability to develop his freedom and develop your own pieces' freedom to move and attack) Practice where I the student was given the advantage of different handicaps (Eugene would play without his Queen, or without his other pieces such as bishops or rooks) Practice in setting up for solving chess problems A chance to solve some chess problems (such as given a certain configuration of pieces, give me checkmate for black in 3) He made me look forward to the NEXT lesson! Dr. Eugene gave me a good reference book to order. This was an outstanding tutoring session that gave me hope I can one day remedy my worst weaknesses as a player. Dr. Eugene was very encouraging, but firmly discouraged bad moves, and was willing to clarify tactical reasoning. I'm delighted.Mary, 1 lesson with Eugene

Eugene was great at teaching my two kids chess. They were beginners so he was patient and kept both of them engaged at the same time.Meenakshi, 6 lessons with Eugene
Dr. Eugene N.
Dr. N is so helpful and patient with my son. He has assisted my son in geometry for several weeks. We have seen a huge improvement in performance. Dr. N. works with our schedule and this helps our whole family! Wonderful tutor.Cynthia, 36 lessons with Eugene
Very knowledgable and patient...
I probably should have given the Dr. 5 stars rather than 4. I was still a little lost; however, not because of his lack of instruction. Sometimes it takes a while for my brain to catch up with the information. Also, it was our first meeting for only one hour. I wasn't sure exactly what I needed and he certainly did not have time to figure out what kind of learner that I am. After he left, I used my notes from class and the information he and I went through together to rework the problems on my own. It took a while, but I got it. I will definitely be calling Dr. Eugene the next time I need assistance.Lori, 2 lessons with Eugene

Very talent and considerate tutor
Eugene was gracious and literally went "the extra mile" when he tutored our son in AP Calculus. Although we live on the other side of town from Eugene, he graciously offered to drive across town to meet with our son. He seems very knowledgeable in Calculus, and showed our son some advanced problem solving techniques that have not yet even been covered in his regular class. We very much appreciate Eugene's dedication and courtesy, and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone seeking a tutor for advanced high school mathematics.Nick, 1 lesson with Eugene
