I am currently a student enrolled at Collin College where I will graduate in the Spring of 2016 with an Associate's Degree in Science; Collin also offers a Biotechnology certificate program which I am working towards completing as well. I have background in computer programming from which I worked in the industry for 5 years prior to becoming a stay at home dad. Once my little one went off to school, I decided to do the same to pursue a different career where I have consistently held a 4.0 GPA in all subjects. I absolutely enjoy helping people learn new concepts, both young and old, and love to see their face when they are finally able grasp a new concept.
Seeing as how everyone learns at a different pace, and with different styles I like to model my tutoring based on those factors. During the first meeting we will discuss what the needs and desires are in order to set attainable goals for future success. Going forward, I will create and implement a teaching plan based on our discussions in that first meeting. Also, I like for learning to be fun as I believe it creates a connection to the subject that could very easily be lost, especially with extremely dry and boring content.

Sometimes the reason for doing the work is lost because it needs to be completed and on time. I want to cut through that and help the students understand the underlying concept in a fun and easy-going way.
When it's all said and done, regardless of your age, if you understand the basic concepts you will be successful. I'm here to get you to that stage. This is true for is third grade math, or college-level algebra. I look forward to meeting with you to develop a plan to get you or your child on the right track for success. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
