Before that I taught FT at the high school level in the Washington D.C. metro area. I have a passion for teaching, and I've been told by many students that my enthusiasm and positive attitude made their time in my class both enjoyable and productive for them. I've also tutored over the years, both independently and at Huntington Learning Center.

One difference that I bring to my teaching/tutoring approach, is that I value the WHY, not the HOW.
Meaning that I'll discuss the rationale behind the process, and the underlying logic (if the students shows interest).
This means that the student isn't just memorizing a bunch of steps, only to soon forget much of it, but grasping a bigger picture of why "the steps" work, and how they connect to other topics covered in their math class.
