Hello, my name is Teryn, but I go by Taz. I am a Junior at the University of Texas in Arlington, studying sciences concentrated in psychology. I have spent many hours volunteer tutoring throughout middle school to now, where I helped my peers and family members with mostly math and science. I graduated with my AS in Psychology and my AA in Liberal Arts from Seminole State College in Oklahoma before I came to Arlington to continue my academic career. I am studying to be a Psychologist and will be attending graduate school in the spring semester of 2022. For the fall 2020 semester I made a 4.0 GPA which consisted of sophomore, junior, and senior level psychology classes.
I enjoy tutoring mostly due to the fact that I get to help students feel confident and be able to accommodate them with life-long tools for bettering their knowledge. I also get the opportunity to create a professional, but caring relationship with students. My goal as a tutor is to not only better one's studying, thinking, and strategical skills, but to also give my students the opportunity to have an outside support system. I want to provide a sense of comfortability and stability within each learning process. I also enjoy learning how each individual student learns and how certain factors (internal/environmental) can affect one's way of learning, then helping the student find solutions for said factors. I use different tutoring methods depending on each student's needs (creativity, hands-on, visuals, etc.). I can not wait to start this educational journey with you!
I have taken two general chemistry course in college, in which I made A's, along with high school chemistry. My highest scores on my ACT were in the science (21) and math (18) portions. I have taken over 60 hours of psychology courses where I make mostly A's, but have the rare B. I am continuing to take psychology and sociology classes at this time at UTA.
